Should You Pull for Kitasan and Satano Diamond Banner?

Introduction

Following the release of Mejiro Palmer Support card, we are greeted with two new Support Cards Kitasan Black and Satono Diamond. In this article, we will In this article, we will briefly go over whether these cards are worth pulling for.

TLDR

Yes, just pull on the banner mainly for two reasons.

  • Get more SR Cards or Limit Breaks
  • Kitasan Black will stay relevant for a long time.

Support Card Overview

Kitasan Black Overview

With the release of Kitasan Black, players now have access to one of the best Support Cards in the game. From the outset, this card offers a lot. At MLB, it provides 15% Training Effectiveness, starts with 35 Friendship Gauge, Power Bonus +1, and a staggering 100 Specialty Priority. This means Kitasan will frequently appear in Speed Training, allowing for more consistent Rainbow Trainings.

Additionally, Kitasan Black has Professor Curvature, a universally strong Gold Skill that works across all race distances and styles. The rest of her skill set also offers valuable utility for Front Runners, including Focus and two notable Recovery Skills.

Without MLB or 3LB, Kitasan Black is relatively underwhelming. Both the Power Bonus and Specialty Priority are locked behind 1LB and 3LB respectively. As a result, in most cases, it is preferable to borrow an MLB or 3LB copy.

Satano Diamond Overview

Sharing this banner with Kitasan is Satono Diamond, an SSR Stamina card. Unfortunately, this card is underwhelming at all levels of investment. At 0LB, it lacks Training Effectiveness, making it a weaker choice than many SR Stamina cards, such as Manhattan Cafe.

In addition, her Gold Skill, Iron Will, is one of the worst in the game. It is unreliable, activates at the wrong times, and often triggers in undesirable situations. If raised to MLB, the card gains 10% Training Bonus and 50 Specialty Priority, making it a decent stat stick.

Regarding her events, the second event involves some RNG, providing either +15 Energy and +10 Stamina or -1 Mood and +20 Guts. The third event is also notable for granting +30 Stamina.

Should You Pull?

To no one's surprise, the answer is yes, Kitasan Black is an absolutely insane card that enables better and more consistent runs overall. She will remain relevant for a long time and is still a solid pick in JP even after four years.

Another reason to pull on this banner is to obtain more SR cards or Limit Breaks. MLB SR cards can easily outperform most non-MLB SSR cards. Addiontally, If you fail to MLB Kitasan during this banner, she will have a rerun in a few months, giving you another chance to secure an MLB copy.

Skipping this banner can also cause problems in future scenarios. There are Friend/Group cards tied to specific scenarios that want multiple copies. In JP, each scenario lasted roughly four months. Assuming we follow an accelerated schedule, we can expect these scenarios to arrive at a much faster pace. Not having your own copy of MLB Kitasan will most likely prevent you from using her in upcoming scenarios, unless you pull for every required scenario card.
