Champions Meeting: Taurus Cup Guide

What is Champions Meeting?

Champion’s Meeting is a recurring PvP event that requires each player to bring three Umas per ticket or attempt. The Uma that finishes first is considered the winner, regardless of the performance of the other Umas in the team.

Team Building and Recommended Characters

Disclaimer: Before moving on to this section, remember to always use the Uma that you want. There are a plethora of decent builds in Room Match lobbies that have shown off-meta picks like Silence Suzuka and Maruzensky peforming well.

Carries

To no one’s surprise, Gold Ship is the best choice for an End Closer carry. By virtue of being an End Closer, she requires slightly less Stamina than other styles. In addition, she can avoid certain debuffs, such as Nice Nature’s All Seeing Eyes. Lastly, she has a built-in gold recovery skill at Potential 5.

Another carry alternative is Oguri Cap as a Pace Chaser. She should be at Potential 3 to unlock Gourmand, a gold recovery skill. In addition, Triumphant Pulse is a strong speed skill that activates towards the end of the race.

Note that there are other carries available, such as Mayano Top Gun, Maruzensky, and Silence Suzuka. However, these Umas are generally harder to build, as they lack a built-in gold recovery skill and are affected by Nice Nature.

Debuffers

Debuffers are consistently used and required for most teams. The most obvious option is Nice Nature, with both Mystifying Murmur and All Seeing Eyes. Other options, such as Grass Wonder, Agnes Tachyon, and Symboli Rudolf, are also strong choices or serve as secondary debuffers with the Dominator debuff.

Note that debuffers do not require high stats to compete in Champions Meeting, as their placement at the end of the race does not matter. At minimum, you will need enough stats to survive the race and 800+ Wit to ensure they activate their skills consistently.

Team Compositions

2 Debuffers + 1 Carry

Going into the first Challenge Meet, this will be the standard team composition most players will want to run. It is the most consistent against any lineup and is much easier to build compared to other teams.

For debuffers, Nice Nature should always be the default pick, alongside any remaining debuffers you have with the Dominator skill. As for your carry, we recommend Gold Ship or Oguri, though any Uma will work if they are well built.

1 Debuffers + 2 Carry

This is another alternative team composition that can perform well if built properly. However, running two carries in the team requires more time and resource investment. You will also need a new parent or legacy Uma that caters to both carries.

Note that we recommend taking Lone Wolf on a Debuffer if you are low on Skill Points. This is to deny other players from taking advantage of the skill.

Parents and Sparks

Looping Sparks and farming for ideal Legacies/Parents is a time consuming process that aims to obtain sparks to make a strong carry Uma. This topic deserves its own article and has a lot to consider such as Aptitude Sparks, Affinity, Unique Skills, White Sparks, Race Sparks, and more. Therefore this section will be kept brief and only go over which sparks to look out for.

Blue and White Sparks

Aptitude (Red Sparks)Stats (Blue Sparks)
Medium SparksStamina > Power

When considering sparks, we highly recommend prioritizing Aptitude sparks over Stats. These are generally more impactful that raw stats and can be compensated for during training. For Red Sparks, always prioritize Distance > Surface > Style. As for Blue Sparks, Stamina will be significantly more important than Power, as it is a Medium race and to counter all the debuffers in Champions Meeting.

Both Taiki and Maruzensky provide strong Unique Skills that can be used for multiple styles. Agnes is also a nice comfort pick at Potential 4, as she has Medium Corners and Straights built into her kit.
